# Exit coach > Set your exit before you buy. The coach watches every coin you tell it about, every minute, and tells you which rule fired. It never sells for you. Most coins that double give the gain back within hours. The coach exists so that the decision to leave is made in advance, as a rule, instead of in the moment. It is part of the Meme plan. ## What it never does - It never buys or sells. QuantBase has no access to your wallet, exchange account or keys, and the coach places no orders anywhere. - It never tells you what to buy. It only watches coins you already hold. - It never assumes you sold. A sale counts only when you record it. A rule firing is a statement about the price. Whether you sell is your decision. ## The rules and their defaults | Rule | Default | What it says | You can set | |---|---|---|---| | Sell half | at **2x** entry | Sell half: that is your stake back, and the rest rides free | 1.2x to 20x | | Trailing stop | arms once up **30%**, fires on a **30%** fall from the best price | Protect the rest: sell if it drops 30% from its best | arm 0% to 500%; fall 5% to 80% | | Cut | at **−50%** of entry | Always sell at −50%: it never took off | 5% to 95% | | Time stop | **6 hours** after you added it | Close after 6 h: take what is there | 15 minutes to 168 hours | | Pool drained | pool liquidity under **$1,000** | Leave if the pool drains: sell now if you still can | $0 to $100,000 | Change them under **My exit rules**, on **Me** or in **Settings → Exit rules**. Each setting has − and + buttons, **Save rules** saves, and **Coach defaults** puts the house values back. **A change applies to coins you add from then on.** Each coin keeps the rules it was added with, so changing your defaults never rewrites a coin you are already holding. ## Adding a coin Choose **I bought this** on a coin page, **Add a coin I bought** on Home, or the + in the feed. | Field | Required | Notes | |---|---|---| | The coin's address | Yes | The Solana mint address | | Price you paid, in USD | Yes | The coach measures every rule from this price | | How much, optional | No | Your stake in USD, so results and the daily summary show dollars | Then **Start watching it**. Over [MCP](/docs/agents/), `dex_watch` with `action="add"` uses the current price when you leave the entry price out, so add the coin right after you buy. ## How a rule fires 1. Every minute, the coach reads each coin's price and pool liquidity from DexScreener, at its deepest Solana pool, and updates the best price seen. 2. It checks the rules in this order: pool drained, sell half, trailing stop, cut, time stop. The first one that applies fires. 3. It writes an alert with the rule and the numbers, for example "fell 31% from its peak (2.40x → 1.66x). Sell the rest now." 4. Sell half moves the coin on: the trailing stop and the other rules keep watching the rest. Any other rule closes the coin in the coach. Between checks the console may already show a rule as **due**: the price is past it and the coach will fire it on its next check. On the coin, each rule shows its state: **waiting** (not in play yet, such as a trailing stop that has not armed), **armed**, **due**, **fired** or **done** (you recorded the sale). The one nearest to firing is shown first. If DexScreener has no price for a coin in a given minute, that coin is skipped for the minute. ## Recording what you did On the coin, **I sold half** and **I sold it all** record a sale at the current price. They sell nothing. Recording half also stops the 2x alert; recording the rest closes the coin. Over MCP you can give the exact price you sold at. **Trade history** shows closed coins with your entry, the peak, your exits, **Peak kept** (how much of the gain at the peak you actually kept) and what closed it: a rule, or you. Where you did not record a sale, the rest is valued at the last price when the coin closed and marked as assumed. ## Alerts Every alert lands in **Alerts** in the console, newest first, with a bell count in the header. Tabs: **All**, **Exits**, **Rugs**, **Graduates**, **Unread**. **Mark all read** clears the count. | Kind | When | |---|---| | Exit | Sell half, trailing stop, cut or time stop fired | | Rug | The pool drained under your limit | | Watchlist | You added a coin: the levels it will be watched at | | Daily summary | Once a day at 03:30 UTC, if you had activity: alerts, exits, how much of each peak you kept, what is still open | | Graduate, Note, Notice | Other notices on your account | ### Telegram Under **Me → Alerts** (or **Settings**), choose **Get a link code**. You get a one-time code, valid for one hour, to send to the QuantBase bot as `/start `. When the account is linked, each alert kind you have chosen is sent to that chat; **Unlink** stops it. The console currently says the customer bot is not live yet. Keep the code; it links your account when the bot opens. Until then, alerts reach you in the console inbox only. Alerts that could not be delivered within two hours are not sent late. Email alerts are not available. ## Limits of the coach - It checks once a minute. A coin can move a long way inside a minute, and a pool can drain between two checks. - DexScreener's price is not your fill. Slippage and fees are not included in any multiple the coach shows. - The rules limit losses and keep part of a win. They do not make a bad coin good, and they lose money on coins that never take off. Evidence, not advice. The coach reports that a rule fired. It does not recommend a trade.
